Grand Marshal Jim Hall Arrives at COTA

Texan Jim Hall, the Grand Marshal of the 2015 Lone Star Le Mans event, arrived at the Circuit of The Americas to begin two days of activities.  The founder  of Chaparral Cars will meet the teams, drivers and fans before waving the green flag to start the fifth round of the World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas on Saturday at 17h00.

Jim Hall was greeted on arrival at Circuit of The Americas by the President of the ACO Pierre Fillon, Bobby Epstein, Chairman and Founding Partner, Circuit of The Americas, Gerard Neveu, CEO World Endurance Championship, Jason Dial, President and CEO, Circuit of The Americas, Scott Atherton, President and COO, Tudor United SportsCar Championship, Andrew Craig, World Endurance Championship U.S. Representative and Duncan Daytonm Member of Board of Directors, Circuit of The Americas.

Born in Abilene, Texas in 1935, Jim Hall's passion for racing grew as he began racing as an amateur driver throughout the 1950s and competed in Formula One between 1960 and 1963.  He teamed up with Hap Sharp to form Chaparral Cars, Inc. and embarked on one of the most innovative racing operations in the history of the sport.  With Chaparral, Hall's name became synonymous with the word "innovative" and he established his legacy as one of the first to realize the advantages of utilizing aerodynamic downforce to help keep racecars on the road.
