Hypercar

  • The final free practice session before qualifying and Hyperpole for the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo took place in warm and cloudy conditions at Interlagos this morning
  • TOYOTA GAZOO Racing topped the times, with Ryō Hirakawa stopping the clocks on a best of 1m23.695 in the #8 GR010 Hybrid Hypercar as the final qualifying simulations took place
  • Hirakawa will share the #8 entry with just Brendon Hartley this weekend, as the pair’s regular partner Sébastien Buemi races elsewhere and misses his first FIA WEC event since the 6 Hours of Shanghai back in 2012
  • The nearest challenger to Toyota was the #50 Ferrari AF Corse as Antonio Fuoco set a 1m24.185s, albeit 0.490s adrift of Hirakawa’s best
  • BMW M Team WRT placed third, with Dries Vanthoor peaking on a 1m24.287s in #15 M Hybrid V8 Hypercar
  • The Dutchman’s time was just a fraction clear of the #7 Toyota, as Mike Conway lapped the track in 1m24.349s
  • Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA continues to be a threat, with the #12 V-Series.R driven by Alex Lynn just 0.019s behind the Toyota in fifth
  • Completing the Hypercar top six in FP3 was the #35 Alpine Endurance Team entry, with Paul-Loup Chatin setting the best time for Les Bleus
  • The top ten was rounded out by the #99 Proton Competition Porsche, #83 Ferrari, #94 Peugeot and #36 Alpine
  • Friday pace-setters Porsche Penske Motorsport appeared to concentrate on long stint data-gathering, propping up the order in 17th and 18th positions in the session with the #5 heading the #6

LMGT3

  • TF Sport emerged on top in LMGT3, as young British talent Jonny Edgar powered to a 1m34.414s lap in the #33 Corvette
  • That peak lap by Edgar proved to be 0.071s quicker than Eduardo Barrichello in the #10 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin Vantage
  • Local hero Barrichello continues to impress in his rookie FIA WEC campaign, as his legendary father Rubens looks on from the team garage
  • Third-quickest in LMGT3 was the #88 Proton Competition Ford Mustang, with Giammarco Levorato setting the car’s best lap of 1m34.485s
  • The #87 Akkodis ASP Team Lexus concluded the session in fourth, with Clemens Schmid at the wheel as the Jérôme Policand-run team targets its first triumph in the championship this weekend
  • Fifth was the #59 United Autosports McLaren, making it five different manufacturers inside the top five at Interlagos. Sean Gelael set a time of 1m34.659s
  • The top six was rounded out by the #78 Lexus, piloted by one of 2025’s most impressive rookies so far, Finn Gehrsitz

Qualifying and Hyperpole are set to start at 14:45 local time (19:45 CET).
