One driver making a welcome return to the FIA World Endurance Championship is Robbie Kerr who will be at the wheel of the No.25 Delta-ADR ORECA 03 Nissan alongside Tor Graves and James Walker for the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo. The Briton last drove in the WEC at the 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps in 2012 and can’t wait to return to the cockpit. He recognises, however, that this weekend’s 6 Hours of Sao Paulo won’t be easy.
“It’s been a little while since I was in the WEC…too long really,” he reflected, “but it’s great to be back and thank you to Delta-ADR for giving me the opportunity.
“It’s my first time here at Interlagos so I’ve got plenty of work to do, and also my first time working with James. I’ve driven with Tor before and we know each other well, so we’ll learn over the next couple of days and hopefully put it all together for qualifying and the race.”
Aside from keeping fit, Robbie has been spending much of his time in the last 12 months coaching young and upcoming drivers in Europe. “I’ve been helping teams in Formula Renault and Formula 3 with driver coaching but unfortunately there hasn’t been enough time in the car for me. I’m looking forward to getting back into it.
“I’m being thrown in the deep end and know we’re up against it a bit as I haven’t been able to do a test before coming here. We will take our time and get used to a car, which is different to last year plus the tyres have changed slightly, and it’s a new beast at a new circuit. I know it’s going to be hard work and I’ll have to focus, but if I can put it together and do a sensible job everyone will be happy.”
