“Unbelievable…..I don’t think that will ever happen again in motorsport history. I did a double look at the timing screens. It shows how close things are in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Great, great competition. The race will be tough tomorrow for sure because the Toyotas are very easy on their tyres. But we will give it a very strong push all the way. It should be fun.”

“It was pretty amazing! The same time after four laps! I remember Jerez in F1, in 1997 with three drivers on the same time (Frentzen, Villeneuve and Schumacher). I had some bad traffic on a few of my laps and I also had a lock-up. It was a good battle and a big story to have the same time, but I am sure we will be good in the race. It will be an interesting battle for sure.”
Lucas Di Grassi – Audi Sport Team Joest, No.1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro
“We have struggled with one lap performance for most of the season. The gap is too big on this type of track for us. We have to have a perfect race and hope the others hit problems. We will have relative better pace in the race and then we just have to get as many points as possible.
(On possibly double-stinting tyres): “It is still uncertain. It will be a good benefit for us if we can, but the track has high (tyre) wear so we will have to wait and see.”
Gimmi Bruni – AF Corse, No.51 Ferrari 458 Italia
“It was ok, we were not taking any big risks and after the wet running in the free practice there was only so much we learned in the small amount of dry laps we had. Of course the championship is in our minds but we are in a nice position. Still, we will be racing hard like we always do.”
Pierre Kaffer - Lotus, No.9 CLM P1/01 AER
“Things are getting better but we just need laps, laps and more laps. The engine is fantastic and we had some really nice track time in FP3. The speed on the straights is there with the AER engine but we need to work more on the set-up of the car itself. But after the unbelievable job the team did after Fuji we are so happy to be able to race tomorrow. I hope we can say a big thank you to them.”
Kristian Poulsen – Aston Martin Racing, No.95 Vantage V8 (LMGTE Am)
“I didn’t get many laps at all in FP3 because the full course yellow came out as soon as I got in the car. The team has done its usual great job this weekend and we are in good shape. For the title we know what we have to do. We approach it the same as any other race which I know everyone says but it really is the way we are working. It will be the same tough race tomorrow but we are happy with what we have achieved so far.”
